Is been a long time world. Like three months since I have been able to post an update on my blog. So here we go.
I have my apartment, got a bed, couch, and an awesome TV to get my game on, now all I need is internet so I can actually get online and play games and or chat with people on a more frequent basis.
I have gone kinda all out on some of things I have bought myself. Got a BlackBerry Torch, and a 42in LED TV that costed just a little bit more than the phone lol. Got myself a bed that I got a good deal on and a couch which got a really good deal on.
Loving my job at Chang's MOE even though I have not worked there in what seems like forever. I am currently in Kuwait doing my culinary training (more on that later) and filling in at MCC to help their crew out in a tough spot. I am learning alot from all the different managers I get to work with and that is really good because I am learning alot of different styles and approaches to handle things to incorporate into my own personal style of management as well. Once I get back from training, hopefully I will be back at MOE and given more responsibility.
Ahhh... Kuwait, how I do not like thee. I have not been here very long but I am not having all that great of a time. The city is dirty, grungy (the beaches I have seen are horrible) and it just seems like such a different place than Dubai. The Irony is they are both muslim nations, but Kuwait is far more traditional (odd how I have access to websites here that I do not in the UAE though). I am going to be here for a month at the Avenues Mall location. I had a few friends open this store over a year ago (even one from back in TC), and the team here is very strong. Plus I get to work with Fawaz again.
Want to give a shout out to Fawaz AlShaya and Leslie Ingersoll for making me feel so welcome here and taking time out of your busy days to converse with me and give me some human interaction (you don't get alot with a prep team in the back who speaks "ok" english).
I still feel as if MOE is a better store though (sorry guys!) it is probably just because it was the first location for PFC that I managed for but hey, they say your first love is the one you remember the longest. I am looking forward to being back.
I am still chugging along on my book. In all honesty I am waaaay behind so I went and bought myself a laptop here in Kuwait (since my Netbook lost a fight with a hardwood floor back in the US) so I could write to keep myself from going stir-crazy after I finished all the books I brought with me. Odd how you can't find books to read easily here, unless you are into Arabic religious books... in arabic. But I am spending about an hour a day on it when I can between work and studying, and hopefully I can post a few chapter excerpts in the future (the rest of my work is in Dubai on my desktop).
On to personal stuff. Well I have been seeing someone over here, and I know she reads this blog (*waves*). She is a great girl, and even though we are not really sure where it is going, we are enjoying each others company and experiencing some of the stuff in Dubai. She has alot to show me (she has lived here for four years) and owes me a tour of the city. So, yeah... where is my tour? I will get you some malibu and coke for it!
Not really anything I want to put in this catch up blog, so I can leave things to put into future ones so I think I am going to say adios muchachos!
See you on the flip side!
